DIGITAL INDIA

The Indian government began the "Digital India" programme to ensure that its residents can access government services online. In order to do this, internet connectivity has been enhanced online infrastructure. The nation has also gained digital empowerment in the context of the technology sector.

On July 1, 2015, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Digital India programme. Other important Indian government programmes like Make in India, BharatNet, StandupIndia, Startup India, Bharatmala, and Sagarmala benefit this.

Additionally, India has 56 crore internet users, 121 billion mobile phones, 45 billion smartphones, and 123 billion Aadhaar biometric I-cards. Through this programme, people around the country have improved access to technology.

The Indian government has made a number of efforts to boost the nation's digital development. A number of information technology companies took part in this initiative, which included more than 600 districts.
